Background & Highlights

KeyXTech was founded by its President, Matthias Otto. Prior to KeyXTech, he served as President & CEO of Leuze electronic, Inc. (opto-electronic sensors, machine safe guarding and safety systems), which he established as a supplier for industrial automation products in North America.

Additionally, Mr. Otto built the Machinery Division for Uhlmann Packaging System (pharmaceutical packaging machinery) as Director & COO Machinery Division in the US from scratch and restructured and returned Koerber Medipak (packaging machinery OEM, formerly Kloeckner) as VP Technology and Operations to profitability.

Early in his career, Mr. Otto worked for Barmag AG (textile machinery) in Germany as an R&D and Design Engineer. In 1995, he transferred to American Barmag in Charlotte, NC, where he ran the custom engineering group as Engineering Manager and developed and installed textile machinery (systems to produce man-made fiber) worldwide.

Mr. Otto earned a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Hannover, Germany (Dipl.-Ing. Maschinenbau). He also holds six patents in the area of machinery design and one in packaging design.
